Done-for-you vs DIY

Done-for-you production, or run the AI tools yourself?

AI video tools each solve one step: a script, a voice, an image, an edit. Running them yourself makes you the producer of every video. This page lays out what that work is, what it costs, where doing it yourself is the better choice, and where it isn't.

The work, step by step

The tools make the parts. Someone still has to make the video.

The left column is the generic workflow of joining separate AI tools together, not a specific product. The right is what a Ghostframe cycle delivers.

StepAI tools, run by youDone for you
ScriptYou prompt a writing tool, check the facts, and trim to a spoken length.A hook-to-payoff documentary script, sized to your runtime at about 150 words per minute.
NarrationYou paste the script into a voice tool, pick a voice, and re-pick it next time if you forget which. One of 30 voices, chosen once. The channel keeps it across every render.
VisualsYou write image prompts, regenerate the misses, and keep the style consistent by hand.A fresh still per scene, with the scene count set from the script's own beats. Fully animated is a separate, pricier option.
Edit & captionsYou assemble audio, images and motion in an editor, then time the captions.Motion and the edit are done for you; captions are burned in from the speech alignment, with a clean .srt alongside.
Thumbnail & SEOYou design the cover and write the title, description and tags separately.A thumbnail (1 to 24 variations) and a title, description and tag pack for every video.
Channel identityLogo, banner and avatar are another tool and another afternoon.A branding kit and written positioning, produced for the channel.
PublishingYou upload each file to each platform.Download everything and upload yourself, or connect your own developer credentials and let Auto Poster schedule it.
Keeping it upYou repeat all of the above every week, forever.A new batch each cycle. You review it and send one style request for the next.

What you provide

About ten minutes of setup.

  • A niche, or let us pick one sized to your budget.
  • Video count, length, quality tier and visual style.
  • A narration voice from the 30 available.
  • Optionally, your own topics and scripts, if you choose that at checkout.
  • Each cycle, one style request for the next batch.

What you receive

Files you keep.

final_1080.mp4 / final_720.mp4
The finished, captioned master. One resolution, depending on your channel.
transcript.srt
Clean captions timed from speech alignment.
seo.json
Title variants, description and tags, ready to paste.

The cover, plus any other variants you paid for.

Real finished channels and thumbnails are on the work page.

Doing the sums

Count your own hours, then compare.

We haven't put a number on how long DIY takes, because it varies too much from person to person. Work it out for yourself:

  1. Add up the monthly subscriptions for writing, voice, images, editing and thumbnails.
  2. Add the credits you spend regenerating scenes that miss.
  3. Multiply your real hours per video by videos per month, then by what an hour of your time is worth.
  4. Compare the total with the production fee on the right.

If the hours are enjoyable or free for you, DIY wins. The fee only makes sense when your time is the scarce thing.

Ghostframe rate card

Priced per finished minute.

Budget stills 1K
$1.25/min + tax
Optimized stills 2K
$2.50/min + tax
Premium stills 4K
$5.00/min + tax
Fully animated, 720p motion
$15.00/min + tax

Thumbnails are extra, starting at $1.50 per video, and music is optional. There is a $50.00/mo minimum, and volume tiers lower the rate as your monthly minutes grow. The plan cards on pricing show exact totals.

Who should do what

Honest answer: it isn't always us.

Run the tools yourself if…

  • You want frame-level control, or you enjoy the craft. Done-for-you is a fixed pipeline with one style request per cycle, not an editing seat.
  • You make a handful of videos, not a schedule. A monthly production service is built for volume.
  • You need a video today. Batches usually land in about 5 days and can take up to 20.
  • You already have an editing workflow that works and a spare evening a week.

Have it done for you if…

  • The bottleneck is your time, not your ideas. You'd rather review finished videos than build them.
  • You want a steady cadence across one or several channels without hiring and managing freelancers.
  • You'd rather pay a flat production fee than assemble, maintain and troubleshoot a tool stack.
  • You're fine with a faceless, narrated format built from AI-generated stills or animation.

Limitations

What done-for-you does not do.

  • Charges are final. Production cost is committed when an order is accepted, so there's no refund for a change of mind or a style you don't like. You can cancel before any renewal and keep everything already delivered.
  • Delivery is an estimate. Usually about 5 days, up to 20 at peak load, never a guarantee.
  • Changes are per cycle. Each channel gets one style request per cycle, applied to the next batch. Approved work isn't rewritten.
  • Faceless only. Narrated AI visuals, not talking-head, screen-recording or lecture video.
  • Auto Poster uses your own developer credentials. Instagram Reels is always a manual upload, and TikTok delivers as drafts you confirm.
  • No monetization promise. Whether a platform approves or pays a channel depends on its niche, cadence and watch time, not on who produced the video.

Questions, answered plainly

Is done-for-you cheaper than running AI video tools myself?

It depends on what your time is worth. Tool subscriptions can look cheaper on paper, but they come with your own hours plus the credits you spend regenerating scenes that miss. Ghostframe's stills production is $1.25, $2.50 or $5.00 per finished minute depending on quality tier, before tax. If you enjoy the work and have the hours, doing it yourself is cheaper. If you'd value those hours above the fee, it isn't.

What do I still have to do?

Set up the package (about ten minutes: niche, video count, length, quality, style, voice), review what's delivered, send a style request for the next cycle if you want one, and publish. You can publish by hand or connect Auto Poster with your own developer credentials.

Do you own my videos or take a share of revenue?

No. The channel and the revenue are yours, and the Terms assign the files we produced to you outright. Ghostframe charges a flat production fee, not a share of AdSense.

Can I switch between doing it myself and using you?

Yes. There's no minimum term, every deliverable is downloadable, and you have at least 90 days to download everything after you cancel. Nothing locks you into the service.

Can I give you my own script?

Yes. If you choose to add your own topics at checkout, you can paste the full narration for a slot and production records those words in your channel voice instead of writing its own. A slot locks once it's in production, and any slot left empty after the 7-day hold gets an AI topic. The rest of the pipeline runs as normal.

Is this the same as hiring an agency or freelancers?

It's the same job done by a fixed pipeline instead of a team you manage. The comparison page lines it up against freelancers and agencies.

Start small and see a real batch.

The smallest plan is $54.38/mo + tax. There's no minimum term, and you can cancel before any renewal and keep everything delivered. Charges aren't refundable once production starts, so pick the size you're comfortable with.
